Ahem. Bones, instead of castigating wor Joey, why didn't you, as a Mod, split the thread?

Joe could have used his own mod powers to spl.... hahaha, oh I crack myself up sometimes.

I don't think the Prem deserves any threads any more, it's kind of sunk into irrelevance I reckon.

I guess week 1 is as good a time as any to face the Arse. With any luck, RVP will be struggling to get over his 250 minutes of WC exertions ( :hiyo: ) and Cesc will be sold or unsettled. We will be horrific in the first game as we always are, and without Masch, Torres or Gerrard the four 17-year-olds in our starting XI will miss their leadership. Here's hoping for a 1-1. Similarly, I hope that Citeh's new 500m-pound strikeforce hasn't gelled yet by week 2 and that Torres feels sheepish about destroying his old employers and subconsciously decides to put in a weak shift.

:gasp:

Nice to see Blackpool eased in gently at home to Wigan: hope they stay up. I felt the same way last season about Burnley until 2 months in, when they became tedious and shit.
Holloway should keep them from becoming tedious for a while.

As long as Blackpool don't fuck themselves silly spending money they don't have, enjoy their season in the sun and don't break any Arsenals players legs, then good luck to them.
I wish them well.

Ok, so uncle Woy takes charge of Liverpool. How do our resident plastic scousers feel about this? What does he need to do, and what are your realistic expectations?

Today's BBC rumours wrote:
Liverpool-bound Roy Hodgson wants to spend the £15m transfer budget he will be handed when he checks in as boss at Anfield on midfielder Gilberto Silva, defender Brede Hangeland, forward Rafael van der Vaart and midfielder Danny Murphy.

Do they mean that Gilberto Silva? :gasp:

The others seem solid buys - Murphy always played his best stuff for Liverpool, Hangeland is better than anyone else they've got at centre half and all their forwards are shit apart from Torres, so adding van der Vaart won't hurt.

Barca eye Ozil (Via the BBC, I don't read the tabloids :haute: ).

:explode: That's just being greedy, boys. That said, him and Fabregas in the middle with no defensive cover is the last thing Arsenal need.

Speaking of which, Cesc is reconsidering life in the Barcelona reserves, apparently.

What? They're both from the BBC site.

Also, you missed the, er, deliberate :fail: of me posting in the wrong thread. :regret

I think he's the best option we have given the financial constraints. My realistic expectations are for us to be better, basically. I'd be over the moon with a top 4 finish or a trophy, but it's hard to tell.
